Tomorrow will be my last day in Turku this year. Feels different this year somehow. There are many changes at home and also many changes here in Turku. But I am still looking forward to the summer. My dear friend Henrica is coming home from Sweden and also I’m going to do some dancing on a theatre which is very exiting!!
If you pass by Ingå in July-August, stop by the Varubrist and you’ll probobly see me there yawning (or even happily smiling).
Summer, here I come!!
Our beautiful friend Kitte is getting married this summer and so we threw her a party last weekend. First we dressed her up as the statue of liberty and she had to complete some missions in Kamppi mall. She collected something old, something new. something borrowed and something blue. Then she did different tricks to get 5€ including a magic trick and a bowling lesson.
After this we went to a party sports center where we played miniature versions of ice hockey and volley ball and a not so miniature version of sumo wrestling…
Then we had an interesting dinner with many small courses, mine including escargots and stuffed vine leaves! One “big” surprise was that our friend Emily came over from Sweden, and it was so good to see her again!
All in all we were over 20 girls joining to send Kitte off marriage and I hope and think she had a good time. Kitte, we love you and wish you all the best! Thank you for being you!
Yesterday night I came home pretty late from a charity concert for my friends car and it was raining. I love rain and so I had to go out for a walk.
There’s just something about rain that makes everything so peaceful. I love how it gives me curly hair, how it washes away dirt and gives new life. I love how rain gives peace to my heart and how it shows how great God is. I love how rain brings nature into the city and how there’s nothing I can do to stop it or make it start. I love falling asleap to the sound of rain on the roof and I love the colour it gives the sky.
I came back quite late from my walk, but it was worth it.
I simply love it.
I just handed in my last paper. What a relief! I haven’t had any lectures for two weeks and now everything is done, so I guess I’m on my summer holiday now! Yey!!
The past few weeks I’ve been the nanny for my sister’s two children three days a week. They are the cutest but sometimes quite a handfull too… The older one (almost 3y) can have som interesting comments sometimes, like when she told me: “Jenny, I’m so proud of you. You’re so good at getting yourself dressed.” =D
I’m gonna go to the library to borrow a book with a very chocalety cake reciepe. Because tonight my two good friends Kitte and Armando are sort of saying goodbye to us with a picnic and some volley ball. I’m going to miss them, but hope to be able to go visit them in Washington very soon…
